Since an early appearance on BBC Tomorrow’s World in 1972 John and Nichola Fletcher have taken part with their deer in over one hundred television programmes as well as many print media. They are frequently called upon for comment on issues in areas as diverse as the politics of alternative land use, deer disease and biology, the history of humans and deer, the culling of deer and venison production and cooking.
In addition to this publicity the deer at Reediehill have been used in the production of many television and video commercials as well as feature films. Particularly memorable appearances have been with Sean Connery and Christopher Lambert in Highlander which necessitated the attachment of artificial antlers to young stags, with Helen Mirren in the pivotal scene from The Queen, with Emma Thompson for Blue Boy, and in the extraordinary car crash in the film of the Rosamunde Pilcher story Summer Solstice. Most recently Reediehill deer featured in the Outlander television drama series. They have also been filmed in commercials for the Glenfiddich whisky sequence superimposed on a location in Cuba, and others for Land Rover, Shell, Aigle clothing, and many others.
